The Legend

Machine

Machine

Cold and lifeless, despite its ability to speak and think.

It has no face, only lives as an app or a search bar;

sometimes, though, it rests in a circular tube that

functions as your alarm clock, your phone,

your news feed, and lights up the room when you

call its name. Have we given it too much power?

It cannot yet move, but it can listen and

watch so sneakily and spread your information.

And that is not all; how do I know that an author

or artist creates original work and does not steal?

Will it take my voice from a call and speak for me?

Most importantly of all, it has no feelings, it does what it pleases.

It does whatever someone asks it to do, if it is able.

It is inevitable that machines will rule flesh and blood, if we let them.
