January

A promising new start

From the old year, we part

Still, I fear

Everything will be the same as last year

The harsh cold creeps in

The delicate snowflakes begin

This frigid weather should be a sin

I am not sure this year will be a win

I start to think

I can not let waning my positivity sink

I do not want to blink

And have the year go by in a wink

I will work hard

This negative feeling will not lurk

Now this new mindset irks

My attitude will rework

This will be my year

I now refuse to hear

Any excuses as to why my goals will not be near

2022 is no longer my fear
